Hongki has never looked girlier; Jonghun still has his disgusting long hair; and Jaejin still has his adorable bowl cute.

I don’t know how long F.T Island has been gone since their company juniors, C.N.Blue has been taking their place as a K-pop instrumental boy group, but F.T Island’s comeback would definitely garner some attention.

The colors of their music is not exactly unique from their past songs due to Hongki’s distinct vocals but it is definitely something new. Still sounding as heartbreaking as ever, the music video features the band and two actors as marionette dolls. Putting all the visuals together, I’m guessing the lovers are being controlled by their family/friends even though they want to be together. In the end, they die together (?). I don’t know if they exactly die but judging from the ending, it seems like it.

There are no signs of Jaejin as a vocalist or rapper in this song as only Hongki and Seunghyun have those parts respectively (sad face). However, Jaejin and Minhyuk definitely look A LOT manlier and cute with their sensible short haircuts.

BoA’s long awaited Korean comeback is finally here! Last week on MBC Music Core, viewers got a sneak peak of BoA’s title song “Hurricane Venus”. Check it out below

I don’t know who else is excited but I am definitely going to buy her new album. In the preview, we get a really short sneak peak of the choreography and we know that Beat Freak’s Rino had a role in it. That itself already makes it credible and awesome. BoA will also comeback with a new image, very Lady Gaga-like IMO but it is different from her previous ones.

The full audio track has already been released but I refuse to listen to it until either the full music video comes out or I get my hands on the album, physically. But listen to it here:

Taeyang will be postponing his solo concert which was going to be held on the 4th and 5th of September.  Instead he will be releasing an international album!

On the YGE website, YG posted that Taeyang will end promotions on August 14th and then he will release the album on August 19th!  The album will include an English version of  “Wedding Dress” and “I’ll Be There” will be the title song.

 A few months ago, YG began to branch out to the foreign market and are now trying to release MVs and English versions of YG songs that will be available on itunes, youtube, etc. 

Basically, Taeyang’s going to release an album that includes 12 songs that they think will appeal most to international fans.  As a bonus, a DVD will be included that has his MVs and the making of them!  “I’ll Be There” was produced and written by the one and only Teddy from 1TYM and YG stated that Shaun Evaristo’s choreography for this song was his favorite!  After the album is released, Taeyang will begin promotions for “I’ll Be There”!

The U-Kiss boys are going to comeback, but instead of on a music show, they are debuting in a drama! The boys are going to be in the drama “I Am Legend” where boys boys play a rock band titled Kiss Band (anyone lulz?). The boys will act in the drama as a band discovered by actor Jang Shin Young.

This is a bit weird because those boys are the last ones that I expect to be in a hard core rock band. At least, that name reminds me of a hard core rock band. Anyways, this has to be interesting Dongho will be playing the drums, Kevin the guitar, Kiseop the bass, Kibum the keyboard and Soohyun will be on vocals. this is going to be exciting I guess, but what the heck, no Eli? This sucks.

We’ll see.

I wanted to have a witty title that introduces SHINee and Lucifer, but it’s so what the heck that I can’t think of one. In the make up room we see the boys with their sunbaes, SUPER JUNIOR. I can’t help but laugh at how Kyuhyun and Jonghyun are in the back looking cool and I can’t help but point out that Taemin looks lost.

The boys start off with my favorite song, Up & Down. This song is one of my favorites on this CD and I am so happy to see this song performed. It is short but sweet but it’s nice to see Minho standing. During Lucifer, there are the longest one shots of Minho, ever. I mean don’t get me wrong, I love Minho, but they always cut to him when it’s the catchiest parts of the dance. Anyways, I can’t stop staring at hair, and then concluding that I don’t like any of it. The concept is still a mystery to me and I think it is a mystery to the boys too. Vocal wise, Minho has improved tons, and Jonghyun and Onew rock it. Bodies look delicious, yeah I said it. Mm (: Ok, well Jonghyun and Barely Legal’s (Minho’s) body is rocking. Key’s hair is x_x and well, good comeback I guess. The song really grows on you after a while, but ah you need to check it out.

Here is Kanauru’s version of the teaser.  They also work with Movement Lifestyle, Shaun Evaristo’s company!  They will also be releasing some videos of their YG trip where they documented the YG choreographers as well as their lifestyle.  They’re gonna be similar BUT they will also have some parts that are different as they mentioned in their description boxes on youtube about the footages.  I am assuming in the Movement Lifestyle version, it’s going to focus on Shaun’s work.

The beginning was slightly different.  Kanauru’s teaser had 2NE1 while the Movement Lifestyle had the LCD wall with lyrics!

If you guys do not know who or what Kanauru Productions is, it is a film group that founder Richard Che is in charge of.  They sometimes film their own remakes of some Kpop music videos and exclusively work with Movement Lifestyle.    Here’s a music video that they made of Big Bang’s “Number 1″!

Okay I know this is just background information and many of you wanna know more about their trip!  Qui Troung (who always plays Taeyang in their MV remakes!) wrote about his trip!  Here’s his entry!

Where do I begin….

So I flew from San Francisco to Seoul on June 28^th and when Richard and I landed…we didn’t know how to get in contact with Shaun but we saw an Internet thing in the airport so I went on AIM and saw Shaun online! From there he told us to go straight to the YG entertainment building because they were practicing with Youngbae for his comeback tomorrow. So we took the taxi to Hotel Seokyo and drop our stuff off and took another taxi to the YG building but the Taxi driver totally didn’t know where the heck the building was so it took 30-40 minutes to arrive at the building….we saw fans posted outside of the YG Entertainment building but when we got to the front of the building there was this fingerprint system and we didn’t have a phone to call Shaun. But after 5 minutes Shaun came up to pick up Rino Nakasone who is from Beat Freaks and the choreographer for Shinee or SM entertainment so that was cool, and Amber of f(x) was with her also lol. So the first person I met from YG is Jay who is the in-house choreographer for YG and he is a reallllllly chill person and knows a decent amount of English.

But as we go through sliding doors the first thing you see is this GIANT WALL THAT is a LCD screen planted where the elevator was playing YG artist music videos…so we went down the stairs to the dance studio and the as we walk into the dance studio the first person I saw was YOUNGBAE! Lol he was to my left and said “O HEY WASSUP” as if he saw me before, which he did because of the interview with Aimee Lee Lucas and I just gave him a hand shake. I didn’t spazz out or anything…so I just went to sit down with Keone and Mari who was helping out with Youngbae also…

Youngbae was working on Just a Feeling and I Need a Girl. But! It was Keone’s BIRTHDAY in about 30 minutes so Shaun asked Youngbae to sing him happy birthday in 30 minutes and he said “ok ” with his signature smile ahahaha. So after 30 minutes he dims the lights in the room and sings him happy birthday in English in a joking way ahaha but everyone was laughing in the dance studio. I thought that was awesome because they just met that day, it really shows how down to earth youngbae is…sometimes I forget he is just 22 lol…..

So after they finish practicing Just A Feeling…He sang You’re My…note that I haven’t heard the whole song yet and that the album wasn’t release yet so I was stoked but I was hiding it ahaha. We have a video of him singing it in the dance studio…just walking around and doing his thing but I don’t know if we are allowed to upload that =/. It’s just a different feeling seeing and hearing him person because you feel it even more…but whoever went to his concert would know what I mean.

So after he sang… he sat down pretty much next to me!!…so he looks at me and I look at him but we didn’t know what to say to each other ahahah. I knew he was thinking of something but the first thing he said to me was

YB: “I saw you with Aimee on Youtube”

Me: “Really?? Awesome =D”

YB: *Points at my hair and then his own hair*

Me: “Yea I know… =X”

YB and Me: *Then we both smile at each other..* rofl NOT HOMO

YB: Are you Korean??

Me: Nah. I’m Chinese

YB: Oooo

I could tell he wanted to speak to me in Korean ahahahaha Jay thought I was Korean also… I don’t even look Korean -_-

But what else was I suppose to say?! I just met the guy.

Then he goes about dancing INAG with JiHye, so that was pretty cool. By the end of the night Shaun rounded all of the dancers and young bae and gave a motivational speech ahaha. But yea totally! There is too much to say!! I’ll just throw in random stuff with my encounter with YB.

For his come back at Mnet we didn’t talk to him at all because he was doing his own thing and we weren’t allowed to bother him or anything but after the shoot for Just a Feeling and INAG which took about  9 freaking hours…..I was so tired.. it wasn’t funny but we will have footage of that..but afterwards we got the luxury to sit in the managers car of Big Bang I believe…soo GD, Youngbae, Shaun, Richard and I were in the car but GD and shaun were talking about their own thing while, Richard and I sit in the back enjoying the Ride back…but when we arrived at their house, I saw 3-5 fangirls waiting outside the house..note that it was like 4-5 am in the morning..crazzzy girls.

Another time would be when I was wearing the black chrome heart Where U At shirt, while I was eating in the crazy waterfall cafeteria, you can see it in 2ne1’s video “Follow Me” at 2:21 ahahaha…but anyways Youngbae came behind me and said:

YB: Hey, that’s the same shirt from the video

Me: Yea sorry…

YB: Nooo Noooo, I like the shirt too

Me: I like your hoodie! Can I have it ahah just playing *he was wearing a chrome heart hoodie*

YB: Yea Chrome heart is really expensive in Korea

Me: I know =(

…hm what is another encounter..

When I asked for his autograph of his deluxe album photobook..I was pretty stoked but Youngbae is a Christian indeed…cause he wrote God Bless You also when he saw Keone’s Cross Necklace he asked

YB: Are you a Christian?

Keone: Yes *shows his Cross tattoo*

YB: We are brothers ..how about you Mari?

Mari: Yea I am

YB: You’re my sister =D

But that was pretty much it….We didn’t really spent much time with Youngbae because he was out performing his live performances and what nots…we spent more time with se7en and 2ne1 than anything.

Let’s go song by song in his newest EP, “Digital Bounce”.

Like all his other albums, he started off with an Intro song titled “Reset”. It is a very dancey, techno-y song. Honestly, I thought it was very catchy and I couldn’t help moving to the beat. As I’m typing this, I’m bouncing my head up and down. I also thought it had a Far-east Movement vibe to it. Is it just me?

Then you have his title song “Digital Bounce” which features Big Bang’s badass rapper (but stiff dancer) TOP. I don’t know if any one caught this but the transition from the intro track to this track was virtually NOT THERE! It just went right into the song, I even thought it was the same intro song when I first listened to it. But aside from that, I didn’t hear Se7en’s raw voice much. It was full of autotune, which made me go -sad face-. However, and upside is that it is SUPER catchy and I am looking forward to the release of the music video because I am sure there is going to be some amazing choreography. How can there NOT be with a track like that? And TOP’s rap was nice. Honestly, I miss his husky rapping because how many idol group rappers actually use to battle in underground? Not much.

Track number 3 is “Better Together”. It sounded like “Digital Bounce” with the autotune and fast beats. Then it got to the chorus and I fan-girled because you can hear Se7en’s VOICE!!! His REAL voice! And it sticks out to me because it is SO different from the rest of the song (it didn’t have the annoying thing sounding in the background).

“I’m Going Crazy” is more chill of a song. It is like an upbeat R&B track. Thankfully, autotune was ABSENT from this track. Se7en got to show his vocal skills, which I think improved since… whenever he was last active in Korea. If he was to have a follow-up track from this album, I would hope that it’s this song. I think this was the track that Teddy produced if I remember correctly.

Number 4 “Money Can’t Buy Me Love” is completely sung in English. I don’t know why they included an all English track but it didn’t sound bad. Se7en enunciated the English with almost no accent so it’s to safe that he’s fluent. Not much to say about this. It’s one of those tracks there are just there to me.

The style then goes back to the first 3 songs with “Drip” and “Rollercoaster”. They are definitely danceable but are one of those track that are just there for me.

Overall, I think Se7en came back with a pretty good comeback album. I don’t think it’s going to flop but it’s something new for the Koreans. A lot of the songs gave off a Far-east Movement feel, or maybe it’s just me. Se7en came back with a totally different image: from boy-manly to completely manly. However, I am disappointed that there are no ballads because he’s pretty good with those.

Go listen to it and see for yourself.

SM Entertainment just released the official music video of Shinee’s comeback song “Lucifer”. So after watching it, I conclude that… no never mind. I still don’t understand their concept.But I DO conclude that Taemin and Key has weird hair, no only Key does but Taemin looks like a girl, or should I say, MORE like a girl. Aside from the hair, I do see some arm muscles.

And the choreography: awesome. Not super awesome, but awesome for idol groups because I see some tutting action going on! The choreography style looks rather familiar so I am really interested as to who choreographed it. Also, I keep staring at the cars…

Yeah, go watch it and anticipate their comeback performances!! Hopefully, Key’s hair has grown back… or at least some of it has.

This here is the reason why I love YG artists so much.  They ALWAYS support each other and it really does feel like they are a legit family.

Taeyang recently won SBS Inkigayo and during his encore performance he revealed that 2NE1 and TOP were present.  While he was singing his encore they all stepped out and Taeyang gave them each a hug. 

I just wanted to share this video with everyone because it’s so great to see how close YG artists are with each other and to see how they always support each other. 

Did you guys notice how much the crowd was screaming when Boss (Taeyang’s Boston Terrier) came out?

Last night, M!Countdown recently had their special 200th episode where many pop idols gathered together to have special stages of past kpop hits. I’ll be linking videos of their performances as I go through them.

The group covered Rain’s “It’s Raining” Taeyang’s “Only Look at Me” 2ne1′s “I Don’t Care” and G-Dragon’s “Heartbreaker”

Can I say I TOTALLY loved their covers? It was awesome!! Well-prepared and executed almost flawlessly.

Sori with BoA’s “Girls on Top” and Ivy’s “Temptation of Sonata”

She didn’t do so hot with “Girls on Top” but “Temptation of Sonata” was almost spot on.

miss A with Jewelry’s “Baby One More Time” Brown Eyed Girls’ “Abracadabra” and T-ara’s “I Go Crazy Because of You”

Is it me or did I find their performance lackluster? It was boring but they had such fun songs.

ZE:A with Shinhwa’s “Hey Come On” and 2PM’s “Again and Again” I thought it was a weird combination but I thought the Shinhwa performance was cute. ^^
